Four things

We stock what we use on the table and nothing else. No own label, no exclusive, no commission. If the thing your skin needs costs twelve francs at the chemist on Hertensteinstrasse, we will write the name down for you instead.

Everything on it, with the price on the rule

Collected from the shelf on your way out, or posted inside Switzerland for 9 CHF. There is no online checkout here and there is not going to be one.

Sunflower and squalane, no fragrance. The first step of every treatment in the building. If you only ever buy one thing here, buy this and finish it before you buy anything else.

Barrier balm

30 ml · about ten weeks

For the four days after a peel and for February. Thick enough that you will use it at night only. It went from 50 ml to 30 ml last year because nobody was finishing the big jar before it turned.

30 ml · about four months

Five per cent lactic, used twice a week to begin with, never on the same night as anything else. We will not sell it to you on a first visit and we are not sorry about that.

Vetiver, bitter orange and a little pine, blended for us in Emmen. It is what Room One smells like. The only thing on this shelf that does nothing at all for your skin.

What we will not stock, and why

Vitamin C serums
They oxidise in a warm bathroom in about eleven weeks and almost nobody finishes one in eleven weeks. Buy a small one somewhere cheap and replace it often.
Anything with an eight-step routine
Four steps is the ceiling at which people are still doing it in March. We would rather sell three things you use than seven you own.
Home devices
Rollers, wands, LED masks. We have seen two that work and neither is sold retail. The 900 francs is better spent on four appointments.
Sunscreen
Not because it does not matter — it matters more than everything else on this page put together — but because the one you will actually wear is the one you can buy on a Saturday at the Migros. We will help you pick it.
Written on the card you leave with

The whole routine, both ends of the day

Morning · 07:10
  1. 1Water on a flannel. No cleanser unless you worked a night shift.
  2. 2Barrier balm, a grain of rice, pressed not rubbed.
  3. 3Sunscreen, two fingers' worth, every month of the year.
Evening · 22:40
  1. 1Cleansing oil on dry skin, sixty seconds, then warm water.
  2. 2Night gel, Tuesday and Friday only, nothing over it.
  3. 3Barrier balm on the other five nights. That is the entire plan.

If your card says something different from this page, follow your card. These three steps are the version we give someone with no particular problem, and most people who come here have a particular problem.

Nothing is sold at the door

You will never be asked at the end of an appointment whether you would like to take anything home. The shelf is on the landing, the prices are on it, and it is open while the building is.
