Tuesday to Friday. Saturday stops at four. Monday is for the laundry, the ordering and the one appointment a week we keep for somebody who cannot come any other day.

The 07:00 and 07:40 slots are the easiest to get and the hardest to persuade anyone to take. If you can do a Tuesday before work you can almost always come this fortnight.

Ask for a room

There is no live calendar here because the diary moves faster than a website does. Send this and we telephone or write back with two or three real times, usually the same afternoon.

What happens after you press send

Four steps, none of them automatic. The longest wait in the whole sequence is the one between you pressing send and Minna finishing the appointment she is in.

  1. 01

We read it, usually before lunch

Minna reads every request herself between appointments. Nothing is automated and nothing goes into a queue.

  2. 02

You get two or three real times

With the room and the facialist named, so you know who you are getting. Hold one by replying; they are released after twenty-four hours.

  3. 03

    A 50-franc deposit, by invoice

Taken off the treatment. It exists because we hold a whole room for you and a no-show costs the day one of its four.

  4. 04

    One message the evening before

Time, room, and the one thing to avoid beforehand — usually retinoids, occasionally a sauna. No marketing ever goes out on that number.

Weggisgasse 14, 6004 Lucerne

Thirty-eight stairs and no lift

Second floor, the door with no plate on it. The watchmaker on the ground floor will point you up if you look lost, and he always does.

From the station
Eleven minutes on foot over the Seebrücke, or bus 1 to Schwanenplatz and two minutes more.
Parking
Parkhaus Altstadt, four minutes away. There is no parking on Weggisgasse and the fines are enthusiastic.
Step-free access
There is none, and we hate it. If stairs are a problem, telephone — Hanne does home visits within Lucerne on Monday mornings.
Arriving early
There is no waiting room. Five minutes before is perfect; twenty minutes before means standing in a stairwell.
If it is faster to talk

Picked up between appointments, and the answerphone is listened to the same day. Tuesday to Saturday.
